Vegan Garlic Bread Recipe: Only Four Ingredients

Firstly, a quick note to say thanks to everyone who shared my first recipe, vegan spaghetti bolognese. It’s been really lovely to see the comments that people have sent me and have really made me want to keep going with posting as many recipes as I possibly can. What better place to go next than the perfect thing to compliment bolognese: vegan garlic bread.

Garlic bread reminds me of everything to do with my student days, and the improvisation and experimentation that had to come along with it. Everything I made was a different shaped carb and either garlic or vegetable stock and maybe a tin of tomatoes if I was doing well.

As grim as that could be, I ended up with quite a few recipes far superior and cheaper than their shop-bought alternatives.

This recipe also conveniently fits into one of the two vegan food groups…

 

…so serve with with houmous, with a main or on its own all in one go because you deserve it.

With only four ingredients, this is my vegan garlic bread recipe:

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp dairy free spread I use Pure but all will work.
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 demi baguette most, if not all, are vegan but might be worth checking

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.
  2. Finely mince the garlic.
  3. Mix the garlic with the dairy free spread and oregano.
  4. Season generously with salt and pepper and mix again.
  5. Cut each baguette into 8, cutting at a slight angle to make longer slices.
  6. Spread a generous amount of the garlic "butter" on each slice.
  7. Put on a lightly greased baking tray and cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve immediately
