It’s no secret after my vegan sausage rolls recipe that I’m a massive fan of pastry. As well as that, I have made it very clear with my own vegan pesto recipe how important that is to me too. So I thought, why not bring these things together for my own vegan puff pastry slices.
Brands like Jus Rol have a wide variety of vegan pastry options but even the Tesco brand pre-rolled puff pastry doesn’t contain any animal products. Brands seem to be coming around to the idea of not needing some sneaky butter or whey powder which is really great to see.
With cheap and pre-rolled pastry and simple ingredients, this recipe is super simple again and is the epitome of vegan comfort food.
You’ll see a common theme of comfort food throughout all of my recipes so far and I’ve been thinking… that really summarises all of the food that I cook. I’ve spoken a lot so far about how we don’t have to miss out with the likes of my sausage rolls or how we can have just as tasty and cheesy vegan enchiladas. In my little break from writing recipes over the past two weeks I have settled on “vegan comfort food” as what I am going to focus on going forward and am delighted to introduce it as the new tagline.
I have loads of recipes still ready to put on paper and am so excited with how far this little blog has come in the short while I’ve been active. Anyway, short ramble over. Now to vegan puff pastry slices:
